Ingredients:
2 dl red lentils
1 tbsp black onion seeds
1 tsp gram masala
2 tsp el ras hanout (Moroccan spice mix)
1 stock cube which can be either vegetable or chicken
1 tsp cooking oil
5 dl water
Optional could be adding leek or spring onion to add some green and crunch. Carrot could also be a nice addition. I can imagine adding coconut milk could also be delicious.
- Fry the spices in the oil on a low heat for 5 minutes.
- If you want to add leek or spring onion slice and add to the spices and fry for 3 minutes.
- Rinse the lentils, and then add to the spices as well as the stock cube and water.
- Allow to cook for 30-40 minutes.
